 good for you: 칭찬과 격려의 영어표현이지만 비꼬아서 말할 때도 사용합니다.

Sheldon : Do you feel complimented when I say your name, George? 

Sheldon :  이름을 말해주면 칭찬받는 기분인가요, George?  

compliment(컴 플리먼트) 칭찬

complimented(컴 플리먼티드) 과거분사로 형용사처럼 쓰임

강조하고 싶은 동사 앞에 쓰고 '정말' '진짜'로 해석

2. be determined to ~하기로 다짐하다

 

She is determined to pass the exam.

그녀는 시험에 합격하기로 다짐했다.

그는 사업을 성공시키기로 다짐했다.

They are determined to win the championship this year.
그들은 올해 챔피언십에서 우승하기로 다짐했다.

I'm determined to learn a new language.
나는 새로운 언어를 배우기로 다짐했다.

She was determined to complete the marathon.
그녀는 마라톤을 완주하기로 다짐했습니다.

He is determined to become a better person.
그는 더 나은 사람이 되기로 다짐했습니다.

 

3. Kind of 약간, 어느 정도

한국어로 해석할 때 '좀'으로 하면 좀(^^) 자연스러워요.

일상회화에서 줄여서 kinda(카인다)라고도 많이 사용해요.

 

I kind of like it.

나는 그거 좀 좋아해.

I kind of want to eat Italian food.

나는 이탈리아 음식을 좀 먹고 싶어.

I kind of want to stay in tonight.

나는 오늘 밤에는 좀 집에 있고 싶어.

I kind of disagree with you.

나는 당신의 의견에 좀 동의하지 않아요.

This room is kind of dark.

이 방은 좀 어둡다.

 

When I was young, I was kind of shy.

내가 어렸을 때, 나는 좀 수줍음을 탔어.

 

4. feel +형용사 ; ~한 느낌이 나다

Do you feel comfortable?

편안한가요?

Do you feel tired after the long walk?

긴 산책 후에 피곤을 느끼시나요?

Do you feel nervous about the exam?

시험에 대해 긴장되나요?

Do you feel confident about your presentation?

발표에 대해 자신감이 있나요?

오늘 기분 좋으신가요?
